Removed more than 1.800 tons of algae from the beaches of Denia after the storm

The storm last weekend left the beaches de Dénia full of algae that have aroused the discomfort of users. For this reason, since last Monday, the Environment department has been working to remove the algae, and for the moment it has removed 1.880 tons with the crane and more than 15 manually.

Work is focusing on the most affected beaches: Les Rotes, Marineta Cassiana, Punta del RasetMarines Bovetes y Molins, and will continue these days due to bad weather forecasts announced by the State Meteorological Agency.

They are acting in total five trucks and one backhoe mixed cleaning work. In addition, following the ISO 14.001 environmental management of beaches, inaccessible areas such as Les Rotes, were reviewed manually.

From the Department directing Josep Crespo a reassuring message because jobs are running lunges, and remember that the presence of Posidonia is an indicator of water quality and is essential to prevent shoreline erosion.
