Filà Abencerrajes wins the Sant Roc paella contest for the second consecutive year

La filà Abencerrages has been proclaimed, this Sunday, the winner of the paella contest of Sant Roc, organized by the mayorales in the Calle Marques de Campo. It is the second consecutive year that the paellero team of the row has won the first prize in this traditional contest that is part of the Moors and Christians festival in honor of Sant Roc.

From midday, the Marqués de Campo street became a veritable hotbed of people and fire, with seventeen paellas participating in the contest. The captains of both sides, Vicente Correcher and Miguel Asunción; the president of the Federation, Rafa Cheli; Councilman parties, Óscar Mengual; and the mayor mayor, Álvaro García, served as jury of this contest. The second prize was for the filà Alkamar and the third for filà Amiries.

The contest, which challenged the high temperatures prevailing in Dénia at that time, was enlivened by the charanga Toca't Un Ou.
