Dénia wakes up with several streets closed to traffic after heavy rains

26 September 2022 - 09: 01

As usual when Dénia suffers an episode of heavy rain, several roads in Dénia have been flooded until they are impassable. Driving through them becomes quite dangerous, so many are closed to traffic to avoid risks.

After the torrential rain of the last few hours, where almost 90 liters per square meter have been accumulated, Dénia dawns with several streets cut, where it is prohibited to circulate with vehicles. The closed streets, as the City Council has published on its social networks, are camí La Bota, camí del Llavador, Grup San Andrés, Grup Antonio Catalá, Plaça Marina Alta, South breakwater access - Marineta Cassiana, Melva street with highway Marines, Camí Fondo with Avenida La Mar (La Xara), Plaça Benidorm, Camí de Gandia (from La Giralda to Assagador del Palmar, and Carretera Alcanalí to La Platja, with the intersection of La Xara.

Update 12:30

Only Melva Street with CV-723 is cut by a sewer whose cover remains raised. From the City Council they affirm that they have already notified to carry out the pertinent repairs.

The residents of Pza. Benidorm and Avda M. Hernández continue to suffer from flooding that every time it rains heavily, the streets turn into a river. It has been requested on several occasions that more drainage traps be placed, since the existing ones are not enough. They confirmed to us that they would solve this problem that we have been suffering from for many years. But everything remains the same.
