08 2024 April - 09: 39

Yesterday dozens of people summoned by Moviment per la Pau de la Marina Alta They met in the Port of Dénia to protest against the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which had been six months since its beginning.

The protesters wanted to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people and denounce the "genocide that Israel is perpetrating." During the day, a manifesto was read in which the murder last week of seven World Central Kitchen collaborators was first denounced. "It is one more warning to all humanitarian organizations that are trying to alleviate the disaster: either they stop helping the population of Gaza, or they will be killed too," the organization said.

«There are already 170 UNRWA employees who have been murdered in these 6 months in Gaza. And children, women and aid workers are not the only strategic objectives of Israel, which has already murdered more than 33.000 civilians in Gaza. In addition, there are 136 journalists killed for trying to document the massacres, 364 members of health personnel who have lost their lives while desperately trying to save the lives of others, and 48 people killed while trying to remove those who were trapped in the rubble of the razed buildings. », they explained.

In addition, they asked that both the United States and the United Kingdom stop blocking the condemnatory resolutions of the UN General Assembly and demand that Israel hold a definitive ceasefire on Gaza. On the other hand, they also demand that the massive entry of humanitarian aid be allowed; that a global arms embargo be imposed on Israel, and that all other trade relations be broken until "the apartheid regime" is ended.

«The atrocities being committed by the Zionist State not only affect Gaza but threaten global peace and security. The non-Jewish Palestinian population is in imminent danger but so is humanity," they said in the manifesto.

At the regional level, Moviment per la Pau celebrates the institutional support in solidarity with the Palestinian people that the municipalities of the Marina Alta are providing: «The Plenary Sessions of Dénia, Ondara, Benissa and Pego have already issued Institutional Declarations of support and others will do so soon, as is the case of Pedreguer.

In addition, they reported that they will send to humanitarian organizations a total of 600 euros that they raised two weeks ago at the charity event organized by Poetes per la Cultura.
