La cystitis It is an inflammation of the bladder that is caused by bacterial infections and mainly affects women. The most common symptoms include pain and burning when urinating, frequent urination, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and a feeling of pressure in the pelvic area.

Also carry out adequate cleaning of the genital area, avoiding the use of irritating products, without falling into excessive hygiene, which could alter the vaginal pH and favor urinary infections.

In this sense, it is recommended to go to the bathroom regularly and not retain urine for a long time to avoid bacterial proliferation. An appropriate frequency would be every 3-4 hours during the day, although this frequency will vary depending on fluid intake.

Among the recommendations is also avoid wearing wet swimsuits It helps bacterial proliferation. Finally, it is advisable to strengthen the immune system, with a healthy diet, rich in fruits and vegetables, and regular physical exercise.

In case of presenting symptoms of cystitis, it is important go to the doctor to obtain an accurate diagnosis and receive the appropriate treatment. And, in the event that the patient presents urinary tract infections very frequently, they should be evaluated by a specialist.

La Dr. Polo stresses that antibiotics are commonly prescribed to treat the infection, but always under medical supervision. As a dietary measure, he recommends the consumption of blueberries to prevent urinary infections.
