Dénia 2023 Christmas programming: there is already a date and new location for the imminent celebration of the Mercat de Nadal

Dénia is now ready for the Christmas. Christmas activities will begin on December 5 with the lighting of the city's streets. That day, Dénia will be filled with lights, markets, music, dance, theater, workshops, a Christmas tree, and other activities designed for all ages, programmed by the different council departments of the City Council, to celebrate the Christmas holidays until January 7 of 2024.

Christmas market

On December 6, the Christmas market, which will be located between Plaza del Consell, Racó de la Infanta Margarita and Plaza de la Constitució. The Christmas Market, organized by the Department of Commerce, will open from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and from 17:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m., until December 10. It will have different sales stalls from local merchants, where you can find a wide variety of artisanal items, gifts, and decorations, as well as typical Christmas gastronomic products such as nougat, chocolates, marzipan, and Polvorones. Likewise, the little ones will be able to enjoy various Christmas entertainment such as storytelling, puppets, children's workshops, and Christmas elves, among others.

From December 11 to 15, the popular Dénia Christmas shop window contest will be held, in which up to 32 establishments will participate. Public voting for the Best Showcase Award will be held on the Dénia City Council Facebook page (@ajuntamentdenia). The awards ceremony will be on December 19.

Nit de la Llum

Another of the most anticipated events this year is the Nit de la Llum, which will be on Saturday, December 9, starting at 17:30 p.m. Thousands of candles will decorate the streets of the city, giving a magical and Christmas atmosphere to that evening. In addition, the Municipal Market will be open until 23:00 p.m., and will also have a very special decoration for the event. The Department of Commerce has organized several shows to liven up the streets of the town center, with music, dancers and carol choirs. Shops in the city center will be open until 21:30 p.m., with special discounts so that people can purchase Christmas shopping.

The Valencià Promotion Office will distribute on December 5 to all schools in Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre a model letter of Wise Men in Valencian, so that the little ones in the house can make their wishes. The city will be filled with concerts and carol sessions, which will take place between December 14 and 27 at the Social Center.
