Environment promote landscape values ​​during summer

The Department of Environment has designed a program of summer activities with the aim of spreading the landscape and environmental values ​​of the municipality. The 16 10 July to August will be held exhibitions, lectures and free tours that bring neighbors and visitors to the rich natural heritage of the city and its surroundings.

Councilman Environment, Juan Carlos Signes, has indicated that the exhibitions and talks with audiovisual projection will take place at the Casa Forestal del Iryda, in the heart of the Montgó Natural Park, which also has a vast pine forest where the public will be allowed to have picnics. The hours of these activities at the Casa del Iryda will be from 11 am to 14 pm and from 19 pm to 22 pm, from Tuesday to Saturday.

Nocturnal excursions

Moreover, eight are scheduled excursions with accompanist for the evening of day 18, 19, 25 and 26 July 1, 2, 8 and 9 August guide. The output of July 18 is a route 5 kilometers walk from the Camí of the colony to Cova de l'Aigua in Montgó, with an expected duration of two hours (from 19 to 21.30 hours).

On the 19th, the proposed route is Torre del Gerro-Loma del Castanyar (6 kilometers) and includes a night astronomical observation. On July 25 there will be a circular route along a new path (Coll de Serrallo-Coll de Pous), also in the Montgó natural park. On Friday 26 there is a planned tour of the path of the old agricultural colony of Montgó, visiting the Gamell cave.

On the first Thursday of August, the excursion will be by boat through the marine reserve of Cabo de Sant Antoni. On day 2, there will be a night walking tour of the greenway from the Alberca river (Marines) to the urban core. On August 8 it is planned to visit the Mediterranean garden of L'Albarda and, to end the cycle of excursions, on August 9 a circular route through the agricultural landscape of Jesús Pobre has been scheduled to admire the rural architecture and monumental trees of this enclave located at the foot of the Montgó.

The Councilor for the Environment thanked the Parc Natural del Montgó, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, the Astronomical Association for their collaboration in organizing the program Marina Alta, the Association for the Protection of Animals and the company Mundomarino excursions.
