The size of Sant Roc returns to Dénia ... and the police fine the carrier

31 July 2015 - 15: 40

This 2015 is being historic for the bosses of Dénia. If in the month of May we received the restored image of the Holy Blood, this Friday we have received the original carving of Sant Roc, which for more than 100 years has been exhibited in the Diocesan Museum of Valencia.

During these months the museum is being renovated and that has been one of the reasons that the original size has returned home, at least for a month. Members of the Brotherhood of Sant Roc morning moved to Valencia to pick it up, and around the 12: 30 reached Denia.

To facilitate transportation, the van in which he was riding has gone to the door of the Church of the Assumption, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and once inside the temple surprise has been that a municipal police have fined the carrier to enter up the square to unload the piece.

José Ronda and Paco Catalá show the fine

200 euros fine, neither more nor less, which have aroused the indignation of those who were working on placing the piece in an urn so that the public can admire it throughout the month of August. Minutes after receiving the fine the mayor has entered the church, Vicent Grimalt, Who said that he is not responsible for the fines.
