The recent history of Dénia can not be conceived without the toy industry that became, at the beginning of the 20th century, a benchmark nationwide. The reflection of that part of our history can be visited in the Toy Museum and, once a year, goes out. We talk about the celebration of Old Toy Fair and Paper Collectibles, that this year reaches its twentieth edition.
For such a special event, from the Association Friends of Joguet Denia, together with the Department of Culture of the city, have developed a complete program aimed at all audiences that includes the traditional fair, a guided tour of the museum, the presentation of a book and the screening of a documentary.
About thirty exhibitors at the fair
At 9: 00 in the morning will open its doors XX Old Toy Fair and Paper Collecting in the first section of the Calle Marques de Campo. This year it is expected the participation of about thirty positions that will come from Barcelona, Lleida, Asturias, Murcia, Valencia and Madrid, among others.
As every year, the fair will count on the collaboration of the students of the IES Historian Chabàs, who from the 10: 00 in the morning, in the second section of Marqués de Campo, will organize popular games for all ages.
Guided tour of the Joguet Museum
At 11: 00 in the morning, a guided tour of the Joguet Museum in Dénia has been scheduled. Center d'Art L'Estacio, by an expert. Free entrance.
Presentation of the book "La Fada Viatgera del Museu del Joguet de Dénia"
At the 12: 00 hours, in the park after the museum, the presentation of the didactic book will be celebrated La Fada Viatgera of the Joguet Museum of Dénia, written by Charo Cabrera with illustrations of the students of the Colors Academy of Estefanía Ramos. A total of 86 boys and girls collaborated in its creation.
This project has taken two years to complete, and the result will be distributed on the day of the presentation. An edition of 1.500 has been made, which will be distributed among the students of 2º and 3º of primary schools of Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre, and in the libraries of the region.
Short film about the history of Dénia's toy
During the presentation of the book, a short 16 short film will also be presented, which tells the story of the toy in Dénia and aims to disseminate it in schools. It is an adaptation of the documentary Els Joguets de Dénia, Veus i colors de la memòria directed by Pau Ivars that was presented last year.
