Does the snow return to Dénia and the Marina Alta?

January 16 from 2020 - 09: 45

It's been almost 3 years since the snow was last seen in Dénia, with that great snow that covered white to the beaches of the Marina Alta. Since then we have not seen a snowflake in the municipality, which is usual here at sea level.

Although at the moment it is unlikely that these images are repeated this year, it is true that there are indications that the snow will get very close to our homes.

The current rain maps for the end of the week, together with the temperatures that threaten to plummet, predict that the snow level will descend in the north of Alicante and south of Valencia. It is true that this may vary with the passing of days as with most long-term predictions, however some disseminators dare to underline the importance of the current data that could cause what they catalog as a historical storm in our area: the union of a powerful anticyclone of the British Isles with a storm in North Africa, which will leave temperatures between -2 and -3 degrees at 1000 meters high and -28 to -30 to 5000.

With a bit of luck we won't have to travel far to experience a white post-Christmas.

It won't snow, but there will be a lot of sun and strange heat for this time of year.
