Sant Roc again Dénia hundred years later to spend the month of August

Summer in Dénia is irresistible for many people, even for Sant Roc. And it is that the original carving of the saint who presided at the end of the XNUMXth century the church of the Asunción in the castle Dénia has returned to the city so that the faithful can enjoy it during the month of August.

The Brotherhood of Sant Roc made the request to the Diocesan Museum of Valencia, where the piece since 1922. During these days the museum is being renovated and that has facilitated wood carving dating from the fifteenth century could come to Dénia.

The piece, which is quite shabby, came on Friday morning to the city, and members of the Brotherhood of Sant Roc, with Paco Catalá, its president, leading the unpacked and placed in an urn enabled on the altar most of the Church of the Assumption, where it will remain until next August 31.
