The tragedy on the road hits again the cyclist family of the Marina Alta. This Sunday, around 8:20 in the morning, a 30-year-old resident of Senija lost his life after being run over by a 25-year-old driver who fled at kilometer 210,900 of the national 332, just four kilometers from where a month ago three cyclists from Jávea.
The alleged perpetrator of the attack drove a BMW and fled, but the testimony of people who saw the accident and called the Emergency Center allowed its identification and was arrested shortly after in the vicinity of El Verger. He is a man of 25 years of Dutch nationality of neighbor of Ondara that tested positive in cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine consumption, and negative in the alcohol test.
The victim was enjoying a morning of cycling, one of his great hobbies, next to a friend who was unharmed but had to be treated with a strong anxiety attack after the accident. The hometown of the deceased, Senija, has decreed three days of official mourning.
