Last week, the Dénia Local Police carried out a speed control campaign in the municipality that resulted in a total of 180 complaints of speeding. These complaints can lead to sanctions of loss of up to 6 points, fines ranging from 100 to 600 euros and even the loss of your driving license.
From April 15 to 21, the Local Police carried out preventive controls, in the morning and afternoon, in different locations in the city: on Joan Fuster Avenue, in various sections of the Las Marinas highway, on the Camino del Cementerio , on the road Las Rotas, on the Camino de Gandía, at the access to La Pedrera, on Avenida del Metge Manuel Vallalta, in the area of the IES Sorts de la Mar and on the CV 725 and CV 7221 roads.
During this campaign, 1.262 vehicles have been stopped for control, of which 15% of the cars checked have committed an infraction related to excess speed.
Councilor for Citizen Security, Javier Scotto, wanted to highlight the importance of carrying out these preventive speed controls on urban roads "because excessive speed continues to be among the top three causes of death in road accidents."
