Manolo Noguera store donates a scale of English to the town of Dénia

The recent history of the city of Denia still coming to light thanks to contributions from individuals. This time has been the Dianense Manolo Rossello Noguera who has donated scales used for weighing passes and nuts dated early S.XX.

Scale passes for the municipality of Dénia

This scale was used in the Cooperative Wholesale Society (CWS), known as English store, and manufactured by Thaddeus and Erastus Fairbanks, E&T Fairbanks Company, of St. Johnsbury, Vermont (USA), a company founded in 1839.

It is dated 1908, inuguración time of the new building of the CWS in the Plaza del Convento de Dénia, said director Ethnological museumJosep Antoni Gisbert. It is in the museum collection which has entered this donation that helps illustrate the time of splendor Dénia lived with the cultivation and marketing of passes between the late nineteenth century and beginning of S.XX.
