Socialists call OMIC advise that families can be evicted

February 11 from 2012 - 00: 00

There are many families that, faced with the current economic situation, can not afford to pay their mortgages and run the risk of being evicted from their homes. Given this situation, the socialist group of the city of Dénia will submit a motion to the February plenary requesting that the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC) offer help and advice to people who request it.

The Valencian Community is the second Spanish autonomy in number of evictions, almost reaching the 4.000 last year, so the socialist councilor Elena Tur has stated that «esta propuesta va en la línea de defensa del sector público, ya que los Socialists of Dénia creemos que formando a los empleados públicos podemos dar este servicio, sin aumentar la plantilla de personal ni la de gastos del Ayuntamiento, pues cuenta con la infraestructura necesaria al incluir este servicio en la OMIC.»
