In the coming hours, the Government of the Generalitat is expected to announce the expected relief of restrictions for de-escalation and what it will consist of. Although everything indicates that the hospitality industry will be able to resume its activity from day one, other sectors seem to have to wait longer to be able to use their premises and reactivate their businesses.
On March 2, the long-awaited de-escalation is expected to begin after seeing how in recent weeks the numbers of coronavirus infections have fallen, leaving us in a much more advantageous position to fight the pandemic while we resume the famous new normal. Now, instead of withdrawing the restrictions at once, as on other occasions, the Generalitat is betting on the route of de-escalation in phases as we did in May.
In the first phase open the hospitality sector with reduced hours and capacity, and activity only abroad, although entrepreneurs are fighting for these restrictions to be further eased, allowing its activity for more hours and also indoors.
In the same vein are the gyms, also closed for weeks. Now, with the particularity that it is not the same type of business. Apparently, sports activity will be allowed in these centers but only in outdoor spaces. However, what differentiates these businesses from most hotel establishments in the area is that they do not have this infrastructure to open. Few gyms have exteriors where they can exercise their activity, limiting it to indoors. That is why the vast majority of them will have to remain closed, waiting for, surely the second half of March, to be able to reopen from the inside.
