The Civil Guard has detained in Calpe 3 men of Romanian nationality, two of 40 years of age and the third of 27, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of larceny in supermarkets, committed by the first two, and a crime against public health , drug trafficking, the third.
Two of the men were arrested when they fled in a vehicle after committing various thefts in supermarkets in the town.
When registering their vehicle, agents found in the trunk and in the rear seats, many bags with gourmet food products: sirloin steak, smoked salmon, entrecots, cuttlefish and liquors, all with an approximate value of about 500 euros.
The two men could not prove the legal provenance of the products, so the agents carried out various checks in supermarkets in the area, verifying that the products had been stolen.
As the agents have been able to find out, they went into the supermarket and bought a low-cost product, although when they left by the cash line, they took the stolen products under their clothes. These products were not for own consumption, but they were sold to third parties for a lower cost than the one marked by the supermarket.
The two detainees, with more than twenty records of similar acts, have been brought to justice.
The one arrested for drug trafficking aroused the agents' suspicions when he hurried away from where they were. Finally it was intercepted and, during the registration of the vehicle, a shoe box was found, containing 60 grams of cocaine in rock, cutting substance, as well as tools for dosing the drug, including a precision scale, and 125 euros in cash , so the agents detained him, and requested a judicial authorization to register at his home.
During the search, in the detainee's home the Civil Guard found 30 more grams of cocaine, 70 grams of amphetamine, 800 euros in cash, a large machete, and a blank, with 48 cartridges.
