15 September 2017 - 18: 11

The Associated Center UNED Dénia has held on Friday the meeting of the Plenary of the Governing Board of the University Consortium, chaired by the Deputy Plans for Improvements to Municipalities, Bernabé Cano, and the Director of the Center, Raquel Martí. In addition, mayors and councilors of the municipalities that form part of the Consortium and the various coordinators of the Center have also attended the plenary session.

One of the main points of the day has been the approval of the budget for the 2018 year, which increases an 1% thanks to the contribution of the employers and is placed in 1.117.446 euros. On the other hand, the 2016 report of the General Administration of the State Administration (IGAE) has been approved, free of any objections, and the 2016 accounts have been approved. Another issue that has been dealt with in plenary and that has been approved the progress of the liquidation of this year.

This year the situation is especially good because "All municipalities are up to date with payments, contributions that make it easier for UNED to work correctly and fulfill its obligations, which results in a better teaching environment, and as a consequence of students", according to the deputy Cano.

One of the main novelties of this year in the center is the incorporation of the degree of Criminology within the regulated academic offer, a degree that according to Martí, "It is the novelty of this course, and many people have already been interested in it. The forecast is that we have a student body superior to the previous course".

Path of better facilities

The Dénia UNED is currently installed in the Municipal House of Culture, a department that will soon move largely to the new building on San José Street. When the works are finished, in the 2018 year, the library and part of the archive will be moved there, transferring that space to the Associated Center UNED Dénia.

The mayor of the city, Vicent Grimalt, explained that to this day are pending to study which areas are definitely moved there and how the Municipal House of Culture is reorganized, although he was in favor of "the House of Culture It is the ideal place for the UNED and perhaps we should consider taking more things out of here and moving them to the Casa de San José or the Casa de la Marquesa Valero de Palma ".
