'Foodtrucks', vermouth, lindy hop and street music to complement the III Dénia Jazz Festival

Increasingly, the month of August in Denia is synonymous with Jazz. Since three years ago the council of culture of the City Council took over the Jazz Festival in Torrecremada, the poster and cultural offer has been growing in quality.

This year four concerts have been scheduled with the presence of Valencian musicians and proposals ranging from the swing of the 30 years to gipsy jazz, through bossa nova, samba and fusion of Latin rhythms, to be held on Thursday of the month of August in the gardens of Torrecremada.

For this third edition has been committed to fill Dénia and its jazz streets, with a variety of activities parallel to the concerts, explained during the presentation the festival director, Enric Peidro.

The days of concert will be performances at street level in different parts of the city -Calle Marques de Campo, Drassanes square, Mariana Pineda square, Plaza del Consell, Calle La Mar, Loreto street, Cavallers street and the Cervantes esplanade-, between 11 am and 20 pm, by the musicians that make up the Dénia Swing Serenades.

At the snack time, from 13 to 14 hours, will be held at the hotel Chamarel session Vermouth & Jazz, with the live performance of Randy Greer (days 3 and 17 of August) and The Three Deuces, training in which Enric Peidro himself participates. Access to these "Vermouth & Jazz" sessions is priced at 5 euros and will be free for people presenting the concert ticket that will be held that same day in the Torrecremada gardens.

Likewise, the days of concert will be given classes of initiation to the dance lindy hop in the House of Culture of Dénia, from 18.30 to 19.30 hours. Ana Oliete and Rubén Atienza, teachers of the school The Marina Lindy Hop, Will be in charge of introducing participants to the rhythms of this dance that was born in the 20 years in New York City. Participation in this activity requires a previous registration addressed to the email festivaljazzdenia@gmail.com. The registration fee is free for people who present the ticket to the concert that will be held that same day and 5 euros for other interested parties.

Each day of the concert, Torrecremada Park will open its doors to the 20: 00 hours to accommodate lindy hop exhibitions, foodtrucks with traditional local gastronomy dishes and drinks bar that will allow the public to enjoy the environment during the hours before The concerts, which will begin at 23 hours.

This program completes the interactive photo exhibition JazzTK Big Band, By Álex García, to be installed in the House of Culture of Denia from 3 to 24 in August. And to finish this III Dénia Jazz Festival, el 24 August The audience will attend a jazz fusion session with Latin rhythms, samba and bossa nova with singer Celia Mur, who will offer a repertoire of Brazilian composer Roberto Menescal with arrangements by Valencian vibraphone artist Arturo Serra.
