The regional secretary of education, Miquel Soler, participated this Wednesday in the last day of the Seminar on New Economic Models developed by the UNED of Dénia in the castle. The secretary defended education as the fundamental tool to advance in society, although he advocated changes in the educational system.

Some changes that would be based on opening a debate on the analysis of the basic competences and capacity that students have to acquire during their formative stage, beyond specific objectives to achieve in each training cycle. In this sense, Soler stressed the importance of a study on the possibilities of job placement in each place, thus establishing training cycles or careers that suit the labor supply of the area.

After knowing the action plan Denia&Marina Alta #TastingLife, which among other things indicates the needs in this sense of the region, Soler showed the commitment of the Council to study the training needs of the agri-food sector of the Marina Alta and promote a unified map of training that reflects the different needs and training demands.

The regional secretary stressed the importance of the intervention of local government and business to get this proposal forward. The first, to guide through an action plan, and the second, to put on the table the needs of the sector in each area.

For his part, the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, was pleased by the "full coincidence of the diagnosis and the Action Plan for the Transformation of the Valencian Economic Model" to implement a long-term economic model.

He also promised to continue deepening "in the innovative capacity of the productive fabric of the region, and promote the modernization transformation of the productive structure of the Marina Alta".
