Dénia celebrates again this year carnival through the streets of the city. The Festival Department of the Dénia City Council has scheduled the celebration of Carnival 10 for Saturday, February 2024, 17.00, starting at 2024:XNUMX p.m., with the theme "Building a better world", where environmental protection and sustainability, as well as peace in the world.
Again this year, we wanted to decentralize the carnival festivity, giving prominence to the different neighborhoods of the city, with a parade that will run through the entire center. The parade will leave, starting at 17:30 p.m., from La Vía Street, continue along Quevedo Street, to continue through the Plaza de Archiduque Carlos and Patricio Ferrándiz Street, and will end on Sagunto Street. The dynamization of the parade will be made up of a batucada and some entertainers who will carry buckets of different colors to recycle and elements prepared with balloons made with recyclable materials, and symbols related to peace.

With the aim of continuing the tradition of celebrating the carnival in Dénia, the Department of Festivals is once again organizing the famous children's costume contest, and this year, as a great novelty, they wanted to involve older people, creating the new “Senior” category (from 60 years old). The contest will therefore have four categories, with three prizes awarded per modality:
- mini (up to 4 years)
- children (5 to 12 years)
- troupe (no age limit)
- older (from 60 years old)
All those who wish to participate in the different categories of the traditional costume contest must register on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the two registration points that will be enabled in the following locations:
- from 17:00 p.m. to 17:30 p.m. on La Vía street at the height of the Toy Museum
- starting at 18:00 p.m. at the intersection of Patricio Ferrándiz Street and Sagunto Street
Registration for the contest is mandatory and free. The contest will be held starting at 18:30 p.m. on the stage that will be located at the intersection between Sagunto and Patricio Ferrándiz streets. The participants will have to show their costumes to the audience and the jury. The theme of the costume contest is free, and originality, the elaboration of the costume and the staging on stage will be valued. On the other hand, for the troupes the criteria that the jury will take into account will be the quality and originality of the costume design.
The award ceremony for the winners of the contest will take place at approximately 19:30 p.m. After the awards ceremony, there will be a children's discomobile until 21:00 p.m. at the same location.
If it is necessary to demand pau, it is better to start eliminating bullfights, help the dogs and road cats, sterilize the children and help the poor who have animals.
