The 2019 calendar of Ludai, a history of overcoming

24 December 2018 - 03: 45

Since they were born in 2008, Ludai has carried out many actions to increase their visibility and raise funds for the association. One of the best known -and expected- by the residents of Dénia and the Marina Alta It is the traditional annual calendar.

An almanac that for 2019 changes to a larger format, as a symbol of what Ludai intends this year: to grow and that their children grow with them and with the necessary resources. This is how Laura Llorca and the president of Ludai, Mayte Cabrera, told us.

This year's is a special calendar, which also symbolizes the new stage the association is going through, with a new directive and renewed ideas. But like all the Ludai, it was possible thanks to the collaboration of many people. The first, the photographer José Guillen, who offered to portray the protagonists of the calendar this year. That was the change that drove the novelties of this year, since until now the yearbook was illustrated with photos made in the CDIAT by Ludai's own team.

Now, with some professional photos with much more to tell, they encouraged the people of Ludai to bet on a format that would make it possible to show off the photos taken. The first change was already achieved.

The second was to give the images a common thread. In this case it was a story created by the team, with the background of overcoming people and the courage of the small players. So they went to work to write some lines that narrated what they wanted to tell, and contacted different spaces to make their photographs there. The Ethnological museum, the IES Sorts de la Mar and the office of Nicolás Merle, as well as natural areas such as Torrecremada or Les Bassetes, formed the scenarios for the photographs.

The result is a project that, despite being traditional, has filled the entire Ludai community with more enthusiasm. A score of children have been the protagonists of this year's calendar, of which 1,000 copies have been published that can be acquired by 5 euros in La Casa de las Medias and in Troya Supermarkets or by contacting any person linked to Ludai.
