Improvements in the Racons de Dénia desalination plant worth 240.000 euros

05 2024 April - 09: 31

Within the Improvement Plan of the Racons de Dénia brackish water desalination station (EDAS), agreed between the Dénia City Council and Aqualia, since last December the renovation work of a complete reverse osmosis frame has been carried out, which They will last until the end of April. The investment made by Aqualia in these works is 240.000 euros.

This is a complex operation that consists of replacing the structure of one of the four frames that the EDAS has. Each frame is made up of 60 pressure tubes, with 6 reverse osmosis membranes each. In total, 1.440 membranes between the four frames, which are capable of producing a total of 20.000 cubic meters per day.

The renewal of the structure, the membranes and the auxiliary measurement and control equipment with other more modern equipment than the existing ones improves the behavior of the frame when collecting data. In addition, it improves operability and prevention, since the previous structure dated back to 1992, the date the plant began operating.

On the other hand, the daily operation of this equipment will also be improved, thus ensuring a continuous and quality supply for the population.
