La Xara school, students and teachers have raised today with great news: the Ministry of Education has decided to demolish the old building, which so far had been raised rehabilitar- and build a completely new one to house the necessary facilities the students 250 which is intended for the center.
So they passed it on to the mayor of La Xara, Maite Pérez Conejero, At a meeting at the offices of Education in Valencia on Monday. The mayor moved there after receiving a call in which he warned of some deficiencies in the projects presented among which listed the lack of sports facilities and a dining room for students; the shape of the stairs, which current legislation and the absence of anti-fire measures are not adapted.
From? Department explained that it is not the same as having a game to make some improvements, as was happening so far with the money the Trust plan that would be allocated to the project, that will make them fully in charge of building a new center, and that must include a set of guidelines to comply with the law.
That is why from the Department proposed to change the project EATIM rehabilitation of the old building by building a new one, of 2.400 square meters, to be built on the plot of the center. Knowing this plan B, the mayor has contacted the management and faculty of the school to know their opinion about it, and they all have agreed with the news, which will provide escape patches in the old school to provide students with brand new facilities.
Given this change of course, the architect of the EATIM already working on the new project for submission to Ministry, which is reviewed and implemented as soon as possible. Still, from the EATIM estimate that this new project will delay the incio of the -previsto works for the first half of 2016- a minimum of one month and a half.
The rehabilitation works of the center were included in the funds of the Plan Confianza, but from the Consellería they decided to fully assume the work to accelerate the process and that it would be easier to execute the works. If everything continues as planned, the works will begin in the first semester of 2016 and it is expected that students can release the facilities in September of 2017.
Visit the Territorial Director of Education
To better meet the needs of the center, the Territorial Director of Educiación, Tudi Torro, will visit next Thursday on school grounds. This is the first time anyone connected with the Department of Education Department to visit La Xara interest in the center.
