Dénia celebrates its Mig Any of Moors and Christians in relative normality

February 24 from 2024 - 15: 33

Dénia has been the scene of one of the few parties that have been held this weekend. After decreeing official mourning throughout the Community for the tragedy that took place in a building in the Campanar neighborhood of Valencia, where the fatalities amounted to 10, the majority of Valencian municipalities and festive entities, such as the city itself, Local Board Fallera of Dénia, have chosen to postpone all events these days. However, the FEMMICC made the complex decision this Friday to maintain the celebrations and adapt them to pay tribute to those affected.

El mig any program This Saturday, which is traditionally the main day, has been accompanied by minutes of silence, black crepes and tributes to the victims. For some residents and revelers, however, it was not enough, and they questioned the decision taken. What's more, the filà walies The entire group has decided not to participate in the parade after much consideration. The federation, for its part, has explained that there was no option to postpone as the dates had been finalized with the musicians who accompanied the bands and there were no other nearby spaces due to the imminent Fallas.

Despite the supposed discontent that was seen on social networks, the truth is that the festivities have been attended by quite a few people on the street throughout their journey. As usual, from La Via Street to the end of Marqués de Campo, the 17 lines have paraded normally. Tonight the last entreeta will take place, with which they will say goodbye to the streets until the next Parties Dénia.

Of course "it hasn't been nice", justifying it because the bands are hired…….there are ways. In short, “empathy”, we are humans, not “cows”, everything else has already been said by the previous speakers.

  2. Luis says:

If they don't celebrate it, how do they justify the financial subsidy they have secured? That's why they are there.

  3. Pau (FR) says:

How funny about 'the complex decision to maintain the celebrations and adapt them to pay tribute to those affected.'. Pay tribute by sucking each other. What a shame, really. Denia must be one of the municipalities with the highest number of festivals per year. I guess it was too much to ask that they give up a weekend of celebrations as a sign of respect for what happened in Valencia.

  4. Antonio Carmona says:

    Liars
    Unsupportive
    Shameful
That is what defines us as a people, a shame.
What you have done only does more than discredit the people of DENIA
Right now I'm ashamed of being that one and of being Valencian
And the majority of the blame lies with the City Council, which is incapable of complying
Now everyone a minute of silence at City Hall when a shameful misfortune happens
I hope that no misfortune like this ever happens to all of you who have participated, but remember the priority you have had

And all this is all to get drunk, fill up on beers, a shame, I hope something like the one in Valencia never happens to these people!!!

  5. It says:

Unbelievable, embarrassing, disrespectful and not supportive at all.
And the City Council allows this insult to the victims and those affected by the tragedy and to the entire Valencian Society.
That is of tourist interest, the national shame.
These people have lost all my respect, as people and as a “party.”
BRAVO WALIES! The only ones who have shown humanity and seriousness.

  6. Fernando Lleder says:

Sorry, but there's nothing normal about that.

The Valencian Community has suffered a tragedy, it is in mourning, all social, festive and cultural events have been suspended... and in Dénia a party is celebrated without any compassion for the deceased... due to a lot of mass and minutes of silence.

The sad thing about all this is the image that our city gives.

  7. Pedro Tur says:

    Shameful!!!!
