Florin Daniel G., of Romanian nationality, has been sentenced to 14 years of prison for suffocating until ending his life to Angel NJ, of 58 years and of Spanish nationality, in an apartment in Dénia. The facts go back to the year 2014. The 15 of August, and with the help of two compatriots his friends, according to the agency EFE, asphyxiated to death the man with whom he had a sentimental relationship to steal 10.000 euros.
The defendants met the victim at a bus station in Madrid, where they apparently spent the night because of a lack of financial resources. The deceased who was seriously ill, had a high purchasing power, so he welcomed the three boys in an apartment that had rented in Madrid and began to defray all their expenses.
In addition, he began a relationship with Florin Daniel G. and invited him in early August to spend a vacation in another apartment of his own, in the urbanization Dreams of Denia, which was added two days later by the other two young men.
According to the ruling, the three defendants planned to return to Romania "previously seizing the most money" of the victim, since they were "tired of depending on him financially".
On the night of 15 in August, when the victim went to bed, the three young men followed him, beat him and threatened him to reveal where he hid the money. He was tied to his feet and hands with a belt and wires, and they put a sock in his mouth to keep him from screaming, and that garment blocked his throat and caused his death by suffocation.
They then scrambled the house, were made with 10.000 euros in cash that the deceased kept in a closet and in his wallet and they fled.
Five days after the events, the deceased's niece found his body in the apartment, where he went after not hearing from him.
Florin Daniel G. pointed out during the trial to his compatriot already condemned by these facts, Doru Florin R., as the material author of the murder, and stated that he had followed his indications because he was afraid of him.
On the other hand, the Audiencia emphasizes in the sentence that both Florin Daniel and the third party, who has not yet been tried for the crime, have served their sentence in Romania recently for assaulting Doru Florin R. to take their share of the spoils.
