The Department of Environment and Climate Change, with the collaboration of APAC, the Protective Association of Friends of the Horse, has organized this week four visits to the shelter for the equine located near the Xara. 91 students from the Cervantes schools have participated in this action offered within the Environmental Education program. The students have moved by bus to the Xara, doing an environmental itinerary guided by the park Joan Baptista Basset, the monumental carob tree and the pine forest, with explanation of the evolution of the forest after the fire. In the shelter they were received by Lois Ford, responsible for the protection, who has carried out the guided tours.
After an explanation of the mission of the horse protector, the problem of abandonment and the intervention of the entity, the students have been able to participate in basic tasks of combing two animals that are in the refuge, characterized by their docility. The visit concluded with a video projection and a tour of the facilities.
