The artists who will go through the Dénia stage this summer at Música al Castell 2023 are already known

08 June 2023 - 12: 01

One of the most important music festivals in Dénia, Música al Castell, returns next month after celebrating its successful 30th anniversary last summer. The Castle will once again host a unique setting, surrounded by history and with incomparable views, from where four artists and groups will take a week-long tour of the sounds of the peninsula.

From Wednesday, July 26 to Sunday, July 30, the XXXI Música al Castell de Dénia will take place. A festival where you can enjoy three free concerts and two paid ones.

This edition will begin with the performance of Abraham Cupeiro & Vent a cinc Septet. They will be in charge of bringing music from the north of the peninsula on Wednesday 26.

After them, on Thursday the 27th, an old acquaintance of the festival will arrive, Pep Gimeno Botifarra. El Botifarra will present in the city this summer his latest album, Ha ve l'air, where he reviews the folklore of the late XNUMXth and early XNUMXth centuries and which he makes in recognition of women, very important sources for the artist in the transmission of this musical tradition. He arrives in Dénia after filling the large hall of the Palau de les Arts, and he will do so accompanied by several musicians, including Miquel Pérez from Dian.

Pérez, present at the press conference to present the program, was grateful to finally be able to play on the castle stage, where he had never played despite having also participated with Pep Gimeno in another edition, but when it had to be held at the La Via street for the works. In fact, this has served so that the mayor, Vicent Grimalt, will bring up the anecdotal thing that turns out to have "played before in Korea", in reference to a concert in 2006 with the music band in which both participated, "that in the castle of their town".

Depedro will open the weekend with his concert in which he will make an acoustic selection of songs from his last two albums. It will be on Friday, July 28 and the entrance will have a price of €15.

The same price will cost access to the last concert in the castle. On Saturday 29 the Sevillian Rosario La Tremendita will close that stage with her flamenco intermixed with more popular rhythms.

Although the last concert in the castle is held on Saturday, the festival continues for one more day, with a free concert being held on Sunday 30 in the Plaza del Consell at 20:30 p.m. in La Colleta Del Verger.

All the concerts, with the exception of the one held on Sunday, start at 23:00. Although they are only paid for on Friday and Saturday, an invitation will have to be reserved in order to control the capacity of 700 people. Both the invitations and the tickets can be purchased from June 15 at the festival website.
