There is already a date for the start of the redevelopment works of the Glorieta

The redevelopment works of bower of the Valencian Country and its surroundings begin on October 3, as announced by the Councilor for Territory, Maria Josep Ripoll, in the informative meeting that he held with residents, merchants and hoteliers from the area affected by the action. The works must be completed in 9 months

The works have been awarded for a budget of 933.498,29 euros, VAT excluded, and have an expected completion time of 9 months.

They will start in the Glorieta and will continue in this area for about four months, according to the work plan. During the first quarter of 2023, “The idea is to combine the works in the street Cop and in Ramón y Cajal with two work teams in order to make the most of the redevelopment of these streets before Holy Week and Easter”. Finally, from April to June, the works auctions will be carried out in the paving, the placement of urban furniture, planting of vegetable elements and road painting in Vicent Andrés Estellés and Ramón y Cajal streets, in the section between Pare Pere and Quevedo street.

Traffic closures due to construction

The councilor has pointed out that there will be occasional traffic cuts when work is being carried out on Ramón y Cajal street or at the intersection of the Glorieta with Pare Pere street.

While the works are in progress, a provisional loading and unloading area will be set up on Calle Colón, between Diana and Ramón y Cajal. The motorcycle parking lot that is currently on Vicent Andrés Estellés street will be moved to this same section, since this area of ​​the street will be used to collect construction materials.

As for the bars with terraces located in the area of ​​action of the works, Maria Josep Ripoll has indicated that "offering them a temporary occupation of the public thoroughfare close to their businesses will be studied so that they can place the tables and chairs while they last. the works”.

Likewise, access to their homes for residents with mobility problems will be guaranteed, as well as the entry and exit of vehicles to the private garage located in the Glorieta.

The Councilor for Territory wished to recall that approximately half of the budget for the action is going to be invested in renovating the sanitation, drinking water, rainwater and public lighting infrastructures, "aspects that will not be seen with the naked eye but that, together with the aesthetic remodeling of the Glorieta and its surroundings, will considerably revalue the area”.

The drafting and execution of the project are co-financed by the Diputación de Alicante, within its Infrastructure Investment and Financing Plan 2020-2023. The City Council of Dénia will pay its corresponding part with the subsidy of the Next Generation European funds.
