With the aim of expanding the cultural offer and promoting a taste for music and the study of string instruments in the Marina Alta, the Dénia International Music Week was born in 1988, parallel to the International Music Course, by the hand of Vicent Ballester and with the collaboration of the Professor of Guitar José Tomás. The project counted from the beginning with the collaboration and direct involvement of the Dénia City Council, through the Culture delegation, the Manuel Lattur Music Academy and an important group of companies and entities.
Currently, the Dénia International Music Setmana, under the artistic direction of Concha Ballester Pons, is recognized as one of the most important Classical Music Festivals in our country. One more year, the city of Dénia will be filled with recitals, concerts, tributes, good music ... all served by established artists and young people who yearn to follow in the footsteps of the greats and with a dedicated audience
participating year after year.
