A literary routes for Dénia contextualize the life and work of María Ibars

Dénia is still immersed in the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the teacher and writer María Ibars, who left us in 1965. Recent actions that have been filed related to this event are some routes where the hostoria of his work is contextualized.

Although born in Valencia and of benign parents, it is in Dénia where María Ibars will live most of her life, between the raval de Baix la Mar and Penyamar, the House of Les Rotes and place where much of his work is inspired.

Now, fifty years after we left, two itineraries remember her figure: one by the coast and one in the mountains. The first begins in the district of Baix la Mar and runs stores Raisin Cándida Carbonell Street, the port of Denia and significant points of the coast of Les Rotes, from the Creek Gosset to the aiguadolç, ending in Torre del Gerro.

The second route starts in Plaza Jaume I and passes through the Pou de la MuntanyaThe Ermita de la Pedrera, the Pare Pere, area Els Campussos, the Montgo y the chapel of Santa Lucia, Reflecting the time the writer spent at the home of her paternal grandmother.

Last Friday these routes and the brochure published by the Institut d'Estudis Comarcals (IECMA) were presented, with the presence of the author of this initiative, Antoni Prats, the president of the IECMA, Rosa SeserAnd the councilman of Culture of Denia, Rafa Carrió.
