May 27 from 2015 - 09: 00

In recent years, Dénia has worked extensively in recovering the dune landscape in Raset area, a work in which recovery has prevailed and planting native species of our coastline.

To better understand the results of these works and make an approach that helps to understand the importance of the dunes in our beaches, 124 schoolchildren in 4th grade of the Cervantes schools, Carmelitas and Vessanes participated in an activity organized by the Department of Environment consisting guided by boardwalks traversing the dunes between the beach and park Raset Les Bassetes routes.

The schoolchildren, accompanied by an environmental educator, learned about the formation process of the dunes, their characteristic vegetation and the associated fauna. As a complement to this knowledge, they approached the shore to observe the remains of posidonia and to know through the explanations its value as a marine ecosystem, since it serves as breeding, refuge, reproduction and food for many species.

The activity was complemented with the previous projection of an illustrative video about the importance of the dunes and seagrass meadows, good environmental practices and standards and precautions when bathing and sun exposure on the beaches and with a plane They performed at the end of the route in indicating the distance traveled.
