El Toy Museum of Dénia has before it a future of changes that will serve to value a unique museum in Spain, because there is no other permanent exhibition dedicated to the toy industry of Dénia.
Currently the Museu del Joguet is installed on the top floor of the old train station of Dénia. On the ground floor is the Center d'Art L'Estacio, a space of temporary artistic exhibitions that has two rooms.
This has been the case for decades. And now, the intention of the City Council is to move the temporary exhibitions to another municipal space and that the entire old train station becomes an expanded Joguet Museum of Denia.
It is the commitment that the councilor of culture has acquired, Rafa Carrió, with the Associació Amics del Joguet de Dénia, who request the town hall support to make the museum grow.
According to Carrió, the intention is to move the current Center d'Art and its temporary exhibitions to the Cavallers building, 3. There is the House of the Marquesa Valero de Palma, currently under renovation to become the future Museum of the History of the City of Dénia.
Once the Center d'Art has been moved, the Joguet Museum can be extended to the ground floor. And for this, the association has offered the pieces they currently have, which are around the 600, with the aim that the permanent exhibition is renewed and offers new incentives to visitors to the museum.

But before all this happens-let's not forget it's a municipal intention, but there are no specific dates-the museum will suffer one of the changes most demanded by visitors. In the coming weeks the elevator will be installed that will allow accessibility to the first floor of people with reduced mobility.
As noted by the councilor of culture, the commitment of the installation company is to enter into operation before December 8, day in which the traditional Fira del Joguet Antic i Coleccionisme in Paper will be held.
From the Amics del Joguet Association of Dénia they have taken the municipal word so that the Joguet Museum of Dénia becomes a benchmark at the national level and the toy story of Dénia occupies the place it deserves.
