REMA starts a new service Podiatry in Dénia

REMA (Rehabilitation Marina Alta) has opened a new Sports Podiatry service in which they have the pleasure of incorporating the prestigious Podiatrist José Juan Roselló to the team. Sports Podiatry REMA born to give a more complete and very important role to render better service.

Sports Podiatry is the part of Podiatric encompassing all treatments and procedures that help the athlete to improve performance and health of the musculoskeletal system. Since REMA they study how to treat foot conditions and deformities in athletes in order to improve sportsmanship, reduce and prevent injuries. It is also one of your goals to reduce energy expenditure in order to improve performance.

Through a biomechanical exploration that consists of:

  • visual exploration of the shape of the foot, in shock.
  • Joint exploration, observing all the articular joints of the foot, ankle, knee and hip range.
  • Observation pressure and the shape and type of the footprint.
  • Exploration gait, where the patient walk on the floor or on a specified surface is examined.
  • Digital platform Pressures: the shape and function of the foot both statically and dynamically be observed (the patient walk on the platform).
  • Running on a treadmill and levying a high speed camera.
  • Information of sports shoes.

It is advisable that people who regularly practice sports, come to the podiatrist for a study of the Biomechanics of the tread and sports shoes, in order to prevent injuries and improve performance performed.

Much of the ankle, knee, hip and spine injuries are directly related to the shape or how those feet are working. They are the base of support of the whole body and an alteration in them, or an insufficient absorption of impacts of the sole of the foot will reverberate in other areas of the body.
