Christmas 2023 programming in Dénia: events, dates and times

As every year, Dénia is full of celebrations for Christmas. The calendar is packed with theaters, concerts, workshops and many more events for the whole family. And, how could it be otherwise, it also has the important Christmas events: the delivery of letters to Santa Claus, New Year's Eve and the welcome to Their Majesties The Three Wise Men from the East.

December 5 Tuesday

• magic mailboxes Placement of mailboxes to send letters to Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men in the Library and the Children's Library of the Rafael Chirbes Reading Agency.
• Letter contest in Valencian The letters from Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men written in Valencian will enter the competition for a batch of books from the Valencia Promotion Office.
• Christmas lights lighting.

Wednesday December 6

• From 09: 00 to 15: 00 XXIII Ciutat de Dénia football tournament, junior category, at the El Rodat football field.

Thursday December 7

• 19:00 Conference Daniya: quaranta anys d'Urban Archeology and calendar presentation Alcassabes peninsulars in the Municipal Library by Massu Sentí, head of the Archeology and Museums area.

From December 6 to 10 - Mercat de Nadal

• Of 11: 00 14 to: 00 and 17: 00 21 to: 00 Mercat de Nadal with storytelling, workshops, Christmas craft demonstrations. Between Plaza del Consell and Plaza de la Constitució.

Friday December 8

• From 09: 00 to 15: 00 I Ciutat de Dénia women's soccer tournament, in the youngest and youngest categories, at the El Rodat soccer field.

Saturday December 9 - Nit de la Llum

• From 17:30 - La Nit de la Llum. The candles will illuminate the streets of the center of Dénia again, where shops will have special hours, open until 21:30 p.m., and will offer unique discounts. In addition, the Municipal Market will open that evening, until 23:00 p.m., full of decoration.

• Christmas window dressing contest. Voting for the best showcase on Facebook.

The 12 8 December to January

• Solidarity Christmas tree in the Mercat Decorated with shopping carts that will be raffled among Mercat Municipal clientele for purchases over €10. Action to benefit AFIMA, Fibromyalgia Association of the Marina Alta.

Thursday December 14

• 11:00 Presentation of the legacy of Emilio Oliver Sanz de Bremond (1923-2023) 100 years, one life, in Carrer Cavallers, number 3.
• 11:00 to 12:30. Christmas crafts workshop taught by volunteer students from the Senior Classes at the Santa Llúcia residence.
• 18:00 Christmas concert of the choir of the Home for the Retired of Dénia in the Social Center.

Friday December 15

• 18:00 II Day A meeting of both stars. Reis d'Orient, stars and traditions. A synthesis between paganism and Christianity in the Castell de Dénia.
• 20:00 Andalusian solidarity zambomba, with a special performance by the No Ni Na choir, to benefit Amunt against Càncer, at the Social Center (€5 donation).

Saturday December 16

• 20:00 Concert by the Grup Polifònic Cadenza at the Social Center.

Sunday December 17

• 12:00 Christmas concert by the EnCantem children's choir at the Center Social.

Monday December 18

• 11:00 to 12:30. Christmas crafts workshop taught by volunteer students from the Senior Classes at the Santa Llúcia residence.

December 19 Tuesday

• From 17: 30 to 19: 00 Christmas crafts workshop at La Pedrera Hospital. To participate as volunteers you must contact the Mayor's Office at the Social Center.

19 21 to the December

• 16:00 to 20:00. Santa Claus workshop where you can take your letter. It will be in Youth Dénia.

Thursday December 21

• 18:00 Christmas Festival of the Classrooms for the Third Age at the Social Center.
• 18:00 Prize giving for the school Christmas card and nativity scene competition, at the Llebeig school.
• 19:00 Io Saturnalia! Rites, agapes and celebration. The origin of Christmas? Mini-exhibition and mini-conference at the Museu de la Mar.

Friday December 22 - Santa Claus

• 16:00 Theater with the ETC (in Russian) Masha and Victor's Christmas Adventures by the Russian children's theater group. It will be in the ETC room of Joventut Dénia.
• 17:30 Arrival of Santa Claus at Marqués de Campo, Diana Street and Plaza de la Constitució, and collection of letters. There will be a performance by the Fountain of the Soul choir who will sing traditional Ukrainian songs.

Saturday December 23

• 09:00 to 14:00. Christmas sports morning with activities and exhibitions from the Municipal Sports Schools, at the Municipal Sports Center.
• 11:00 Visit of Santa's elf to the Library!
• 12:00 storyteller Contes Nadalencs from the Ca'La Basa company.
• 19:00 Io Saturnalia! Rites, agapes and celebration. The origin of Christmas? Mini-exhibition and mini-conference at the Museu de la Mar.
• 20:00 Christmas concert of the Orfeó de Dénia at the Social Center.

• 12:00 Domingo Llorens Cervera and The charity. Restoration of an emblematic work by the Dianense painter, in the Entològic Museum.
• 17:30 Concert Nadal's Valencian songs, by Urbàlia Rurana, at the Social Center.

Thursday December 28

• 17:30 Children's theater A different Christmas, by Pàmpol Teatre. For boys and girls from 3 to 9 years old. With free entry at the Social Center.
• 19:00 Io Saturnalia! Rites, agapes and celebration. The origin of Christmas? Mini-exhibition and mini-conference at the Museu de la Mar.

Friday December 29

• 11:30 Christmas carols with the Choir of the Retirement Home, at the Santa Llúcia residence.
• 12:00 Guided tour of the Joguet Museum, From Hollywood to Dénia. Cinematographic toys.
• 17:30 Theater-dance The princess with the yellow backpack... dances, by Takiri Art Company, at the Center Social.

Saturday December 30

• 12:00 Discover the Castle. The palace and the winery. The collection of Islamic ceramics. Guided tour of the Dénia Castle.
• 17:30 Musical Theater Turn off I'm on, by SauldArte Teatro Company. Work especially recommended for boys and girls from 6 years old. At the Social Center.
• 19:30 San Silvestre Dénia 2023 Race. Non-competitive race whose start will take place in the Plaza de la Constitució.

Sunday December 31 - New Year's Eve

• 11:00 to 13:00. Children's bells in the Glorieta.
• 13:30 to 15:00. Afternoon at the Glorieta with DJs Pitt Franco and Pepe Nacho.
• 15:00 to 17:00. Loli Pop concert at the Glorieta.
• 23:30 to 03:00. Chimes with the La Fiesta orchestra.

• 17:30 Pinocchio musical theater, by Trencadís Produccions, at the Social Center.

Wednesday, January 3 - Royal Postmen

• 12:00 Domingo Llorens Cervera and The charity. Restoration of an emblematic work by the Dianense painter, in the Entològic Museum.
• 18:00 Arrival of the Royal Postmen from Marqués de Campo to collect the letters for the Three Wise Men in the Plaza de la Constitució. Letter collection will be until 20:00 p.m.

Thursday January 4

• 17:30 Children's theater Mai plou to the taste of tots, by Xarop Teatre. Free entry to the Social Center.

Friday, January 5 - Three Kings Parade

• 12:00 Guided tour of the Joguet Museum, From Hollywood to Dénia. Cinematographic toys.
• 18:00 Arrival of the Three Wise Men by sea, at 17:00 p.m., to the port of Dénia. From that hour on, their Eastern Majesties will travel the route between the Port and La Via Street, passing through Marqués de Campo and Diana Street. Check the itinerary, schedules and history here.
