Heat wave: the worst is yet to come

05 July 2021 - 09: 58

Since last Saturday, Dénia suffers the first great heat wave of the year, causing the thermometers to exceed 32º. In addition, the low presence of clouds and wind makes the thermal sensation even greater.

The State Meteorological Agency had to activate the yellow alert in the Marina Alta due to the high temperatures that, initially, would maintain the level of risk until Sunday. However, the AEMET has extended this alert until next Tuesday the 6th, for now.

What's more, it will be that last day of the yellow alert that will set the temperature record in the area. Dénia will be able to register maximums of 35 degrees during the afternoon, between 13:00 p.m. and 19:00 p.m.

And we can still give thanks to the coastal towns, since the municipalities of the Marina Alta pre-coast could register the 38th.
