The Ministry of Education has approved the transfer of 2.519.513,94 euros to the City of Dénia to make improvements in the public school Pou de la Muntanya, within the well-known plan Edificant, a proposal that must be ratified by the City Council.
This amount will be used to finance all administrative contracting procedures, and will include both the works contracts and the services necessary to carry them out, in accordance with the provisions of current contracting regulations.
Once the proposal has been ratified by the plenary session, the Minister of Education will sign the definitive resolution so that the City Council initiates the processing of the contracting of the works.
The technical report that has been approved by the Ministry of Education includes two types of actions: the improvement works of the Pou school building and the works of the new children's classroom, a stage that today is taught at the Rodat facilities.
Performances in the center
The programmed works will focus on the change of the windows, the solution to cracks in the structure of the school, the change of the floor of the building, the change of doors of the classrooms, the installation of the emergency exit of the upper floor, the improvement of the electrical network of the building, improvement of the distribution of the administrative areas and the conditioning of spaces for the attention to families, administrative area, staff room and offices, as well as the improvement of the pavement of the access road between the Pou de la Muntanya and the Vessanes school, which floods the days of heavy rains, making it difficult to access the center.
Regarding the construction of the new preschool classrooms, the facilities will have two classrooms for children, a multipurpose room and a porticoed area that allows the realization of outdoor activities of the students and the connection with the main building in a covered way. The new building will have two units of 1º child cycle and with six units of infant education of 2º cycle. This new class will be located on the sports track that adjoins the sports tracks Vessanes school and the solar west side downtown.
The works of the new lecture hall will be divided into two annuities, 2018 and 2.019; while the conditioning works of the centers could be done during the 2018. In the technical report specifies that both actions can be performed at the same time, since their execution is not incompatible with each other.
Plan Edificant in Dénia today
This is not the first performance to be held in a Dianense school thanks to the Edificant Plan. The construction of the Xara school is also authorized by the Conselleria, with a budget of 3,9 million euros; the change of windows and other actions in CEIP Cervantes de Dénia, budgeted in 164.333,15 euros and the reform of the dining room cover, the change of windows and the reform of CEIP Vessanes bathrooms, with a cost of 416.854,61 euros.
It is expected that all these works will begin to tender in the coming days.
