Antonio Cabrera has died in Dénia at 95 years of age. The hotelier has been one of the best known faces in the Baix la Mar neighborhood, his neighbors even dedicating a street in his honor. For decades it has run one of the most frequented places by the usual, by the sailors and families of the place, and by the new ones, by tourists and celebrities. A local known like him, like malcriat.
For approximately three decades, back in 1950, Antonio Cabrera was in charge of his bar Home the Malcriat, well known for its fish, aliolis and its llandeta. After this, he ran a tobacconist with the same name, a business that fell into the hands of his daughter.
El malcriat, as reported by the newspaper canfali, has left us 95 years old. In his memory, the funeral was held this afternoon in the San Antonio parish.
