Mostra Internacional de Dansa Folklòrica: Dianium Dansa

As is traditional, the dance group Dianium Dansa closes one more year the International Dansa Folkloric Exhibition with a performance that will take place on Sunday 9 in September at 21 hours in the Plaza del Consell.

Dianium Danza was born in Dénia at the end of the 1988 year as a result of the activities developed in the Municipal House of Culture Denia.

From the year 1994 is legally constituted as a group of dances and a new stage begins. The main objectives and that reflect its founding statutes are: the recovery of our traditional dances with all that that entails (clothing, music, customs, language, etc.), especially in regard to the eighteenth century.

In the year 1994 Dianium Dance, as a result of the task that is imposed, begins the recovery of the Corpus dances, of which there is evidence that Dénia was already celebrated in the seventeenth century, and as the main and most representative is the dance of the MOMA that represents the struggle between virtue and the 7 capital sins. Year after year the number of participating dancers has increased and incorporating new processional dances, cabuts or dwarfs, of shepherds, of weavers, of easels, tambourines, last year the giants "Tirant and Carmesína" were born and by June the dragon was incorporated .

Currently the group is made up of about 60 people including children, youth and adults. The group annually performs numerous performances in the city of Dénia, in the Marina Alta as well as in the rest of the Valencian regions. He has participated in popular festivals, meetings and exchanges both in the Valencian Country and the rest of the country, such as in Sestao and La Coruña among other places and samples of European culture having been in Germany, Cerdanya, Denmark, France, Italy and Switzerland. .

In the performances it is accompanied, mainly, of story and of the dulzaina and tabalet in the dances of street or square.
