Moncloa and Generalitat meet today to assess increasing the curfew

January 19 from 2021 - 10: 28

Two meetings that can change everything. On the one hand, the Government of Spain will begin to explore the possibility of, as several communities have already pleaded, increase the curfew so that it begins at 20:00. On the other hand, the Generalitat has announced that it advances to today the interdepartmental meeting originally scheduled to take place 48 hours later.

This urgency of the government of Puig would attend to the critical situation through which most of the departments of the Valencian Community pass. Ours is the autonomy with the greatest hospital pressure in the entire state, having already had to resort to field hospitals in Alacant and València.

Presumably, the situation worries the Generalitat, with the community having more incidence than most European countries, so it is urgent to modify the restriction measures until finding ones that really alleviate the situation.

As he did with the first curfew, everything indicates that this would be one of the most pleasing to Puig's team, restricting mobility from 20:00 p.m. It would repeat, in this way, the same way as when the first curfew, announcing shortly before the Spanish government its measures so that they are covered by the law by Moncloa hours later.

In the same way, it has to be debated whether to persist with the confinement of the municipalities that until now are in that situation, since the established 14 days are about to expire. In addition, they must consider the possibility of using this resource with other localities with an incidence shot up in recent weeks, as is the case in many towns in the Marina Alta, including Dénia, which in incidence exceeds half of the confined municipalities.

Be that as it may, the safest thing is that early in the afternoon the results of these meetings will be known, which will serve as a new asset to recover from this alarming situation.
