29 September 2016 - 18: 36

Monday October 3 start to operate the new facilities Ecopark Dénia, remodeled and optimized in recent weeks to facilitate the use of private and professional recycling.

On an official visit on Thursday morning, Councilor for Environment and Climate Change Josep CrespoHe explained that the aim is to sensitize the public on the need to recycle all materials, free of charge and with possible bonus. And, as announced by the council, the Generalitat Valenciana is working on new legislation that will include reductions in the rate of waste to encourage recycling among citizens. Thus, all residents of Dénia depositing waste in the Ecoparque may be subsidized annually on payment of the fee. It is expected that the new law comes into operation next year, so that bonuses would be effective from 2018.

Waste containers in the Ecoparc

Potentiation of recycling among citizens is one of the biggest bets of the Department of the Environment, and one of the reasons, besides the obvious need for better with infrastructures, to renew Ecoparc facilities. From next Monday, residents who wish may make one of the new eco-park in a very simple way.

Individuals or companies who access the Ecoparc should facilitate data entry, in order to develop a census of businesses and individuals that use the ecopark and, in turn, get a database of waste generated, as Urbaser explained the manager, José Vicente Saura.

After recording the data will proceed to weigh the waste and, depending on the type they are, it will tell the user what unloading platform must deposit them. These platforms surround all areas and are numbered and marked with photographs to aid identification. Here you can be deposited, for example, plant debris, plastics, paper and cardboard, bulky (sofas, chairs, ...) and mattresses.

On the other hand, it has created an external circuit, separate from that used depositaries for professional waste managers who take ecopark treatment plants.

Furthermore, it has enabled a central covered space where hazardous waste containers include: toner, fluorescent, solvents, paints, medicines, vegetable oil and mineral, aerosols, batteries, televisions, contaminated containers, appliances and small appliances.

The eco-park will be open Monday through Friday from 8 to 20 hours continuously, and Saturdays from 8 to 14 hours.
