The workers of the Pedrera Hospital, through the Personnel Board, have requested an extraordinary and urgent meeting from the Ministry of Health. "for an arbitrary and unjustified decision of the principal" for which they denounce that "The group of nurses and nursing assistants can be seriously harmed".
In a statement, the workers denounce that from 2009 they saw "Forced to leave their service for which they were professionally prepared, work teams broke down and a good number of prestigious professionals left Denia". Affirm that "It has been difficult years" in which "With effort we have found the motivation to train, change the way we work and the style of care to continue giving the best of ourselves".
Three months ago the Directorate communicated to the Personnel Board the new shift planning that would take effect in the 2017, a proposal that was studied by a working group created specifically for this purpose. The May 30, the center's management called the Personnel Board and the working group to inform them that they had requested two reports to support their claims, one of a legal nature, from the Ministry of Health, and another regarding health of the workers, of the Occupational Risk Prevention Unit, but to date none of the two organizations has spoken. In fact, in the statement they say that "There are conflicting studies in this regard, so they cannot be pronounced either for or against such shifts". Despite this situation, the hospital management "It is ratified in implementing the new shift rejected by all workers according to a survey promoted by nursing management".
That is why the collective of workers at the Hospital de La Pedrera considers "an unjustifiable error of the Directorate maintain this authoritarian attitude and this lack of dialogue", which has generated a "discouragement" which has led them to request an urgent and extraordinary meeting with those responsible for Health of the Consellería, "With the desire that the understanding of the parties put an end to the restlessness and deep discomfort of nursing, because the right to reconcile work and family life should not be conditioned by the decision of a person who does not attend to reasons."
