Socialists meet with workers residence

Antonio Torres, spokesperson for the Parliamentary Group of PSPV-PSOE in les Corts Valencianes, visited last week, with the councilors Vicent Grimalt, Vicenta Bixquert y Pep MaríThe Nursing Home St. Lucia and the center of Denia to meet with municipal workers and discuss the situation of uncertainty created after the approval of the new law of local administration, according to which the continuity of the municipal management of the residence from 2016 would not be guaranteed if Dénia does not meet the economic requirements.

As he stated by Torres, "We understand that if these centers were to be managed by the Generalitat Valenciana, the next day the Consell would be closing them and arranging those places with the private residences that are owned by the large construction groups of the Valencian Community."

The spokesman of the Socialists in Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, said "we will not let our guard down and if the PP-CU tries to take advantage of this law to further seal the well-being of Dianenses they will stumble over the Socialists, because we are not going to allow Mr. Chelet to use the new law to apply cuts in the municipal budget, either in personnel or in social services".

Vicenta Bixquert, meanwhile, recalled that the full Dénia passed a motion calling on the Valencian Government to repeal the decree on the new copayment people in situation of dependency, "A new blow for people with different abilities and people in situations of dependency by applying more co-payments".
