The opposition groups in the municipality of Dénia have wanted to comment on the inauguration of the new Maritime station and the visit of the President of the Generalitat, Alberto Fabra, to inaugurate it.
Nationalist councilor Josep Crespo has urged the mayor of the city to agree with the Generalitat a new model of port management.
For Crespo, Fabra's visit supposed «la oportunidad perfecta para pactar con el Consell la obtención de un porcentaje de los beneficios que deja el puerto de Dénia en la Generalitat (…) está claro que no estamos en un buen momento y Dénia necesita ese cánon».
The BLOC councilor also lamented the delay in the opening of this port terminal, since «los turistas se han visto afectados por esta mala gestión económica de la Generalitat». At the same time, Crespo asked that this visit serve to accelerate the rail connection between Dénia and Gandia or the construction of the bus station.
The socialist group, on the other hand, «falto de contundencia y alejado de la realidad» the speech of the mayor, since according to her spokesperson, Vicent Grimalt, «tenía la obligación de exigirle al President que salde la deuda de más de 4 millones de euros que tiene la Generalitat con el municipio de Dénia».
