- Thinking about the celebration of Mother's Day and the arrival of spring, and with the aim of encouraging local commerce, the Department of Commerce of the Dénia City Council has collaborated with ACADE (Association of Autonomous Merchants of Dénia) for the celebration of the second edition of the Flower Mother festival, between Saturday April 29 and Saturday May 6.
The businesses adhering to the initiative -78 ACADE associated establishments- will be decorated with floral motifs and, in addition, they can participate in the contest of window dressing which has spring as its decorative theme. The competition jury, made up of the Councilor for Commerce, one or a technician from the Strategy Office And a person expert in floristry or decoration, it will award a first, second and third prize, as well as two special mentions. To which must be added the award of the public, that the citizens will vote on the Facebook of the Ajuntament de Dénia, until Monday, May 8, at 10 a.m.
To kick off the festival, on Saturday, April 29, activities of all kinds and for the public will be held, from 11 a.m. to 20:30 p.m., in different areas of the city.
The morning will start with a pincers (from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Arxiduc Carles square; from 17 to 18:30 p.m. in Marqués de Campo and Temple de Sant Telm; and from 19 to 20:30 p.m., in Glorieta y street Cop).
Between 11:30 a.m. and 13:30 p.m. you can enjoy music of dolçaina in the streets, with the following route: Arxiduc Carles square, Quevedo street, Diana street, Glorieta, Cop street, Diana, Marqués de Campo, Carlos Sentí, La Mar, Cándida Carbonell and back to Marqués de Campo.
At the same time, on Calle La Mar, between 12:30 and 13:30 p.m., there will be a session of clandestine dances. For those people who are more aware of the environment or curious about the subject, there will be two ecological workshops between 12 and 13:30 p.m. in the Arxiduc Carles square, and from 16 to 20 p.m. on the site of the old ambulatory of the Calle Marques de Campo.
For families, at 17:XNUMX p.m., on the site of the old ambulatory and on Calle Quevedo, there will be organized traditional games until 20 hours. Also in the afternoon, you can follow the batucada on its way through the Arxiduc Carles, Quevedo, Diana, Glorieta, Cop, Diana, Marqués de Campo, Carlos Sentí, La Mar, Cándida Carbonell and Marqués de Campo, between 17:30 p.m. and 19:30 p.m. If you prefer, at 18:XNUMX p.m., you can attend the dance tour that zumba professionals will carry out through Marqués de Campo, Diana and the Glorieta.
