18 March 2021 - 09: 48

Coinciding with the dates on which the Fallas, and with the aim of contributing to the different virtual initiatives that this year want to keep alive the Fallas spirit and certain cultural and festive activity in our city, the Municipal Archive of Dénia has exported in mp4 format the documentary "Fallas in Dénia, 1946- 1961 "(previously released on VHS and DVD, in 1997 and 2014).

This new format makes it possible to make the valuable graphic witness available to all citizens, through the Archive's YouTube channel.

The audiovisual has a duration of about 30 minutes and the script was made by Miquel Crespo and Antoni Reig, the latter a journalist who also puts the voice to narrate the situation and the interests of the Dénia in the early twentieth century and how the origin was conceived of the Fallas in the city.

The images show a chronological journey through the history of the first Dianenses Fallas monuments, from the first attempt, in 1946, with the Peña del Tio Pep fault.

Next, the documentary reviews the history of the Centro, Baix la Mar, les Roques, Oeste and Port-Rotes districts; the falleras presentations; the parade of floats in the Festival; and children's commissions.

The Dénia Archive has wanted to take advantage of this different year, in which the health emergency due to COVID-19 keeps the fallera party suspended, to disseminate this report, prepared in its day thanks to the images provided by José Moll, Bernardo Serra and the García-Pons, Casaudoumeq and Marsal families.
