The MACMA takes a historic step in the expansion and diversification of regional services

05 October 2020 - 07: 34

The MACMA plenary session unanimously approved on September 30 the statutory amendment that adapts to Law 21/2018 of Associations and that definitively broadens the body's competence framework.
On behalf of the Pedreguer City Council, the Mayor, Sergi Ferrús, and the Councilor for Culture, Ferran Lloret, who occupies one of the vice-presidencies of the Commonwealth, were present. They welcomed this modification, which, in the words of the president of the MACMA, José Ramiro , "It is a measure to strengthen the regional administration and at the same time an unavoidable opportunity to make MACMA an organization and channel for the optimization of public services in the Marina Alta". With these words, the president of the MACMA introduced yesterday the central point of the plenary session that was held in the Teulada Moraira Auditorium, also headed by the mayor of the municipality Rosa Vila. And it is that, after the recent statutory modifications of the Mancomunidad to make official within the scope of competence the areas of Tourism, Youth, Education and Sports, the new Law 21/2018 of Mancomunidades of the Generalitat Valenciana urged the entity to adapt to the new law in order to definitively expand and diversify the areas of competence of the MACMA.

An adaptation that was corroborated by the General Directorate of Local Administration, due to the scope and representation that the MACMA represents in the territory of the Marina Alta, mainly due to the number of populations and percentage of inhabitants. Not surprisingly, currently the MACMA is made up of 32 of the 33 towns in the region, with which the agency serves a population of 174.820 inhabitants - given the official census of 2019 -, that is, 99,81 % of the population of the region. In addition, an important point claimed for years and now allowed by the new regulations, is the inclusion of the EATIM of the Llosa de Camacho, Jesús Pobre and the Xara as full members in the plenary of the entity: a historical claim that legitimizes and makes visible the membership of these local entities in the MACMA.

In summary, the new and transcendent modification legitimizes the Commonwealth as a potential platform and matrix for all those services that want to unite from the consensus and needs of the peoples that are part of it. In fact, another point of the plenary, also unanimously supported, was the approval of the regulations of the Marina Alta Sports Network, the document that makes official the continuity of the already dissolved CEMA -Consorcio Deportivo de la Marina Alta- through a new administrative format integrated into the MACMA, which has been agreed upon by the Sports technicians of the region, as well as by the area councilors.

Once these points were approved, in the final section of the plenary session, the president of the Xarxa Jove, Aitor Llobell, the Dénia Youth Councilor, Melanie Ivars and the Youth Councilor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Víctor Bisquert, spoke to account of the projects of the Xarxa Jove Marina Alta. Then, also within the reports of the Presidency and Management, the manager of MACMA, Jovi Lozano-Seser summarized the imminent actions of the Mancomunidad in the cultural sphere.
