The MACMA brings the cycle 'Passejant la Marina' to the Tourism students of the IES María Ibars

The students of the Tourism cycle of the IES Maria Ibars of Dénia have known, at first hand, one of the great bets of the Cultural Mancomunitat de la Marina Alta (MACMA) for this year.

The technicians have presented Passejant la Marina: From terra endins, from mar enllà, a conference to be held throughout this year and consisting of a conference, to be held on Friday at 20: 00 hours at the University Seu, and an exit to the main cities to be held on Saturday from Dénia.

The MACMA manager, Jovi Lozano, explained that "For MACMA it is important to convey the idea of ​​a cultural tourism anchored in principles such as sustainability or the legitimation of the Marina Alta as a prestigious destination, so it is very important to approach future professionals in the area in teaching meetings and all kinds of training or recreational interventions ".

The first day will be held on Friday May 18 -conference at the Dénia Headquarters, at the 20.00 hours by the professor and historian Ricard Llompart- and on Saturday 19 in May -Depart from Dénia by bus, at 9.00 hours, Plaza Archiduque Carlos-, where the period will be addressed of the Germanías; a fundamental historical stage in the Marina Alta with the rupture of peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims. On this occasion, the visit will be made in Dénia, El Verger, the towns of the Rectory and Beniarbeig and will be headed by the archaeologist Josep Marqués.

Already towards autumn, the days 19 and October 20 the Moorish legacy will be approached inside the region to talk about one of the darkest chapters in the history of the Marina Alta, the expulsion of the Moors from 1609: therefore, the itinerary will cover the terms of the Vall d'Alcalà , the Vall de Laguar and Dénia.

The cycle will conclude the days November 30 and December 1 with a day on the Duchess of Almodóvar - the visit will visit Xaló, Llíber and Gata de Gorgos -, one of the most successful Valencian noblemen and advanced to its time.
