Next February 22, the Institut d'Estudis Comarcals of the Marina Alta will name the professor and researcher Roser Cabrera as Honorary Member in the Municipal Auditorium of Dénia. Born in Valencia, to a Benisero father, she has been linked to Dénia and the Marina Alta since the early 70s, when she took up residence in La Xara, where she still lives and works on her investigations.
Graduate in Modern Philology and Doctor in Catalan Philology, she has worked as a French teacher for most of her teaching time at the Chabàs Historian Institute in Dénia, where she obtained the degree of professor.
He has dedicated a large part of his life to teaching and research in the areas of Catalan Philology and Popular Culture, disciplines in which he has achieved various awards and distinctions for his work such as the Vila de Teulada, Vila de Benissa, Ciudad de Dénia, Vila de Pedreguer Honor Award, Radio Dénia Notable Award, El Ocell d'Ondara Award, among others. She was the founder of the Manuel Sanchis Guarner Popular Culture Seminar, of the IES Historiador Chabàs de Dénia.
She is the author of many publications such as The cultivation of the vineyard and the preparation of the raisin, The olive tree, the olive and the oil in the Alicante regions, Sea and language in the Marina Alta, Listen, Laia, Traditional trades of the Marina Alta (co-author), History of everyday life, The marine world in Dénia (Doctoral Thesis), Dénia's toys (co-author), magazine The fang (co-author), The classroom lived and other publications related to teaching, popular culture and philology.
In all his work he has stood out for the rigor in his research and the passion he has always put into it. As a teacher, he has left an indelible memory in the large number of students who have passed through his classrooms.
For all these merits, the IECMA will name her Honorary Member, as it already did with other illustrious people and institutions in the region such as Vicent Balaguer, Josep Ivars, Juan Ramón Castejón, Canfali-Marina Alta and Joan Josep Cardona.
