Last night's waterspout in Dénia did not come as a surprise. The AEMET had been warning him for hours with the active red alert due to the extreme risk of rain in the area. And, although in Dénia its most torrential state did not make an appearance until approximately 23:00 p.m. on Sunday, it finally arrived.
The images left by the immense waterspout are spectacular. In a few minutes the dry streets were submerged under water. Even in areas that are rarely flooded. Few districts of Dénia were saved from the water, and the center was not one of them.
As seen in the video, last night the walk through Marqués de Campo and the adjacent ones was impossible. The water completely covered the road and the sidewalk, in sections more than a foot deep. Also the surrounding streets, such as Sandunga, became impassable rivers.
AND YEARS AND YEARS WILL PASS AND WE ARE STILL THE SAME..
For a Municipal Plan against floods!
We can't be like this every time it rains.
And if that catches you at the “Station” of Buses, let's not even say.
The truth is that it is a shame that we have to be the neighbors who suffer the consequences of a group of politicians who hardly bother to listen to the people.
My car garage flooded last night and I couldn't get it out because the fire department was busy.

I ask…was there material or personal damage? Because the headline that heavy rains flood the center of Denia…the same thing happened on my street that you see in the video, but shortly after it stopped raining, the water disappeared. We are seeing cities in which floods really occur (houses, cars etc) it is dramatic and in the center of Denia that did not happen although it seems so in the headline. It is my opinion!
